MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio--(BUSINESS WIRE)--As tricked-out name tags, retro hair styles, and "I Heart Insurance" buttons sweep the nation, Floridians have the chance to compete for a spot alongside Progressive's helpful insurance expert, Flo, to star in a national ad. Flo helper-hopefuls in the greater Miami area will have the opportunity to try out in-person at the Miami Design Preservation League on February 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Video try-outs can also be submitted at www.helpflo.com through March 21. "It's been really busy in our Superstore and I'm psyched to have an extra pair of hands to help all of my friends, I mean, our customers," said Flo, Progressive's always-happy-to-help insurance clerk. "If you're friendly, hard working, and love insurance—after all, who doesn't—try out!" "The Superstore and Flo are a reflection of our products and the service we give our customers," says Larry Bloomenkranz, Progressive's Chief Marketing Officer. "We're looking for someone who is unique, likeable, and can put their own twist on being a Superstore employee. We can't wait to see the talent in Miami." Entrants will be judged on a variety of criteria including their overall appeal and how engaging they are, camera presence, and originality. Visit the Web site for the Official Rules. America will vote on the top 10 semi-finalists at www.helpflo.com and narrow the field to three. The three finalists will then be flown to Los Angeles for a live try out with Flo. CAPE MAY COURT HOUSE - Superior Court Judge Susan Maven ruled this morning that Nicholas Golden waived his rights when he spoke to police after a fatal accident that killed a Middle Township resident July 2008. Golden, then 18, was driving in the northbound lane of Route 47 July 21, 2008, coming from his Philadelphia home when he hit Lozier, who was riding his motorcycle in the southbound lane, head on. Lozier, a 20-year-old college student at West Virginia University and a 2006 graduate of Middle Township High School, was pronounced dead at the scene. Maven's ruling means prosecutor can use Golden's statement at his upcoming trial on aggravated manslaughter charges. And investigating officer who responded to the accident said he had been trained to recognize when a suspect is under the influence of drugs. After testing Golden's responses to a series of balance and visual tests, he said he determined Golden was under the influence of a depressant and marijuana at the time of the crash. Police read Golden his rights at 4:46 p.m. the day of the crash. Those rights included the right to remain silent and to have an attorney present. Golden signed the Miranda rights card and then waived his rights before Adams questioned him. Nicholas Golden remains free on bail. He is charged with aggravated manslaughter. A grand jury indicted him in March 2009. Contact Trudi Gilfillian: 609-463-6716 Five Filters featured article: Chilcot Inquiry. Available tools: PDF Newspaper, Full Text RSS, Term Extraction. |
